@Tomo

Callidora knows this house inside and out, she had made sure of that. Childhood brought curiosity, and with curiosity came wandering, roaming hours lost to the night. She knows places her parents have never dreamed off.  Hideaways and secret passages. Nevertheless, it is still not as grand and tricky as Hogwarts, but she’d like to think it is.

Outside, the entrance to the grounds of the mansion is grand indeed. A high, manicured yew hedge borders the driveway on both sides. The driveway is perfectly straight, running through wrought-iron gates and straight up to the front door. More so, inside, tall ceilings and swooping, graceful archways, eloquent in design yet somehow hinting at the sinister nature that lay below the surface of the façade, a house built into existence by dark magic. Black stone, dark stained wood, ornate furnishings, gilded silver accents, and crystalline glass.

And among this particular manor, Malfoy manner, there was music, commotion, people, wizards and witches alike.

Nearly all of them Slytherin, and none of them Gryffindor.

Even as her parents grew out of school age, they still held Hogwart houses to importance as if they entirely defined a character. As if the house you had been placed in at the age of 11 was stapled to your face for the rest of your life. For Callidora, it didn’t matter, often times, and maybe that was why she was sort of the ugly duckling in her family. Included, but not, at the same time. Honestly, she often times didn’t want to be included.

But her mother would not have her reputation soiled by excommunicating her daughter in the face of a dinner party, or ball, as she so stubbornly dubbed it. She may hate Callidora, but she would rather give up her social life entirely then let the public wizarding community know that in the first place.

These formal occasions were the ones when the family was allowed to wear dresses and tuxedos and the like instead of those dull, drab dress robes, which she loathed so openly. Why wouldn’t Callidora attend if it meant she was given allowance to buy a new dress, which she not only was entitled to keep, but didn’t have to pay for. That was how her mother bribed her into attendance each and every time.

And on this particular night, her dress is of stunning beauty. It is a shade of blue that casts shame to the brilliant greens and blues of the peacocks that roam the grounds outside, adorned with glinting beads, across the slender expanse of her torso and over the rise of its empire bodice. She believes that even an ugly person would look beautiful in a dress like this, and she is probably right.

It is just when she thinks that maybe this night will be uneventful that she sees a particularly familiar face at the entrance, the place where their maître d’ for the night, Sebastian, is posted. It is Tomislav. Tomo. The person she hopes will make her night at least somewhat interesting. And she is sure she won’t be disappointed.

Just as Sebastian is saying, “I’m sorry, but you’re not on the-” In that scratchy little voice of his, Callidora places her dainty hand on his shoulder, and pushes him to the side just enough that Tomo can easily get by now.

“He’s with me, Sebastian. All is well.” She flicks her icy blue gaze up at the servant, half a scowl pulling at the corner of her lips when she does. It is a warning, in many cases, but she is sure Sebastian will not ask questions about her decision.

So it’s all just for appearances? Hm… Sounds like fun.

Are you being sarcastic?

No. I’ve never done this before.

So will I see you there?

Is that so, then? Then make it happen.

My dear parents are holding a ball at the Malfoy Manor this weekend, Elladora and myself will be there, feel free to attend.

A ball? -stares- A ball? I’ve never even been in a suit.

More of a dinner party, but ball makes it sound better, in my parents eyes. Besides, it’s fun to cause a little chaos during, and wearing formal clothing while doing so just makes it look even better.

Twins. Lovely. There’s a sense of grace I find myself fascinated by in this family, something that, if overdone, will just serve to be an annoyance, but this is not the case here. I can’t comment on them personally, since I’ve not properly met them or been introduced to them, but from observation alone, not only of them, but of their - I assume - brother as well, this is not a family I would mind being acquainted to.

I can make that happen.

I could’ve also just seen you in History class, and your outward apparel shares descriptive similarities to the girl I find more attractive.

Ha.

bella gerant alii

My name is Callidora Malfoy. 6th year. A twin. A pureblood. And a Slytherin. What more could you ask for? Nothing.

I'm that girl everybody wants to figure out. You will love me or you will hate me, it's just that, I don't really care either way.

I'm capable of anything really.
